I used to love kids since young. I remember that when I was young, I always go to my next door. It is beacause there was a little boy in the house. I like to go there and play with him. That period was my first time taking care of young children though I was just seven to ten years old. When the little boy’s mother is busy, I helped her to made powdered milk for the little boy.
I have a target. I want to open my own nursery. My family is fully support me on this. I afraid I lack of experience and professional. So, I decided to study Early Childhood Education. Before I enrolled to college for that course, I work in a kindergarten for half year to determine myself whether I can handle this course.
I have a really good experience while I working in the particular kindergarten. The principal let me to be the main teacher instead of assistant teacher. I’m taking care of the four years old class. They were twelve children in the class. Meets the ratio of classroom. I thought it won’t be that hard. But, still not easy to handle the kids. There were a lot runs, shouts, cries and hurts in the classroom. I faced a lot challenges with the parents. No matter what happen to the child, parents will first find me and ask ‘WHY’. I will need to report to my principal as well. It is because I’m the teacher in the class. I have the full responsibility to what happens in the class.
Finally, I entered Segi College for Diploma in Ealy Childhood Education. I learnt how to plan the learning environment for young children, how to observe the children with different methods, how to helps children develop all areas in child development and so forth. I have both theory and practical works in my class. For example, study the theory of the theorist (Piaget) and field visit to kindergarten for assignment purpose.
